Vava'u Resort Accommodation
Vava'u is one of the top tourist destinations in the Kingdom of Tonga, being one of four main island groups. Located about an hour's flight north of the main International Airport on Tongatapu, Vava'u is a haven for holidaymaker. It comprises a cluster of islands, with one island being much larger than the others. It is here that the region's airport is located and about 20 minutes drive south of the airport is the main town of Neiafu. Neiafu is scenically located overlooking the Port of Refuge, a sheltered harbour dotted with local as well as visiting yachts; Vava'u is a well-known 'port of call' for sailing enthusiasts.
Accommodation in Vava'u can be found in Neiafu as well as on the islands offshore. Town accommodation is primarily in the form of guest apartments and diving lodges, providing a great base for those interested in going out diving and fishing. The outer island resorts, with sandy beaches and relaxing views are ideal for those seeking a beach holiday in Tonga.
